Miss Kibera

A recent visit to Kenya in Africa has inspired Gisele to share her experiences on her Blog. She has shared her first impressions of the region and the some of the solutions that are being developed by the members of the community. She shared what she learned about the power of a community and the biogas centers that converts human waste into gas that can be used for electricity.

This time, Gisele writes about a community leader called Zitah Jimoi, also known as Miss Kibera. She’s a woman that wants to change the outlook for young women in her neighborhood. Gisele explains “Zitah emphasizes the importance of education and teaches them that they have choices for how their futures.”
