Searching for sustainable solutions

While in Kenya, Gisele was able to learn all about Practical Action’s work, which provides slow-cooking stove alternatives and smoke hoods to help reduce the smoke up to 70% in the villagers’ homes. In addition to watching the village women install one of the stoves in a village home, our Goodwill Ambassador also took part in the making of a fireless cooker, developed by Naomi, a community leader that is well liked and respected by the women of her village. “Even though she faces many challenges in her life she maintains a refreshingly positive outlook on life”, said the supermodel.

Gisele speaks about the experience: “They had strong spirits, positive attitudes, and smart ideas. I feel extremely blessed to have spent time with these incredible women.”
